Access and Equity

Brain Injury Association of South Carolina is committed to increasing access and amplifying diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts as an organization. People who have experienced brain injury come from all walks of life and can be members of different marginalized communities. They come from different socio-economic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and races. Individuals can acquire brain injury in a variety of different ways. The BIASC makes it a priority to magnify the voices of brain injury survivors. As BIASC says, "If you've seen one brain injury, you've seen one brain injury.”

Our Current Efforts

  • Our Board of Directors has established an Access and Equity Committee.

  • We are working on getting some of our content and printed materials translated into Spanish.

  • We are making our outreach efforts more intentional with reaching marginalized communities and communities of color.

Your voice matters.

We want to continue to educate ourselves and hold courageous, meaningful conversation around access and equity within our organization and in the communities we serve.
