National Concussion Awareness Day: September 16, 2022

Statistics about concussions. Between 1.7-3 million sports and rec related concussions happen yearly. 5 in 10 concussions go unreported or undetected. current data sources may only capture 1 of every 9 concussions across the US.

Friday, September 16, 2022 is National Concussion Awareness Day! This day was founded by concussion survivor Brooke Mills, a Spartanburg, SC native.

All week we have been promoting and providing content about concussions as well as concussion resources that are available for FREE to you! Resources such as the SC REAP Manual and access to the SC Get Schooled on Concussions & COVID (GSOC) portal - which includes access to an interactive Return to Learn (RTL) resource for educators on how to adjust learning for students with a concussion called the TACT (Teacher Acute Concussion Tool).

Make sure you check out our social media for any information or content that you may have missed; including survivor stories and a social media takeover by Brooke Mills herself!
