Brain Injury-Friendly Yoga
BIASC is thrilled to offer free brain injury-friendly yoga classes all year! Classes take place virtually on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 10 –11 a.m. These sessions feature chair yoga, an adapted, seated format designed specifically for brain injury survivors. This welcoming approach ensures anyone, regardless of ability or skill level, can participate. Registration is required.
Why Yoga?
Yoga is more than just physical exercise—it’s a powerful tool for enhancing brain health. Regular practice has been shown to:
Reduce stress and anxiety: Lower cortisol levels and improve your mood.
Increase focus and concentration: Strengthen the hippocampus, the brain’s memory center.
Improve cognitive function: Boost memory, attention, and processing speed.
Promote neuroplasticity: Encourage the growth of new neurons and brain connections.
Enhance brain connectivity: Improve communication between different regions of your brain.
Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, this class is designed to support your journey to better brain health. Mark your calendars and join us!
